The seafood buffet was exceptional!

Hard to get to restaurant if stairs are an issue.

I stayed at La Vela for two weeks during low season. The hotel is directly on the beach, at the end of a street dotted with small shops and restaurants that are decidedly better and much cheaper than the ones inside. The complex is built from stone, wood, metal and immersed in a tropical garden, giving it a minimalist, eco-friendly atmosphere. It has banned single-use plastics and provides two free glass water bottles per day, which you can refill in the public areas. Breakfast is a real banquet held at the Spice Cafe, elbow-to-elbow with tropical birds. It's truly spectacular - honestly one of the best I've experienced at a hotel of this level. There's an entire room just for 20 types of breads, pastries and brioches; two huge buffet lines where they make soups, noodles and every possible egg dish you can imagine on the spot; a sushi corner; a station for hot and cold beverages. In addition to the Spice Cafe there is a bar with a library (which makes great coffee and terrible cakes, even though they look nice) and a restaurant and cocktail bar on the beach. The hotel has two beautiful pools plus one near the beach. It also offers a small gym, a fabulous spa, a skate park, equipment for water sports (for a fee), free beach towels, and a daily program of free soft activities like yoga on the beach, which I highly recommend. The room was equipped with every possible comfort: a beautiful tub on the balcony (not a hot tub), a walk-in shower, a huge bed that was almost as tall as me, a minibar area with a large fridge and kettle, wine glasses and various amenity kits. You can adjust the lighting with a panel. During the day you can hear some noise from the nearby hotel under construction, at night just the music of the waves. Outside the hotel, as I said, there are many shops and excursion stands. I also recommend taking a taxi to the most beautiful beaches, since the one at the hotel is a bit disappointing. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful.

During the low season, the common areas flood and there is a real risk of slipping on the stone steps and in the corridors. The sea was muddy and rough, so to swim I had to go to the nearby beaches. What bothered me the most though was the strong musty smell in the room, as you can read in other reviews. I think it comes from the air conditioner filters that are never cleaned and it's so intense that it makes it difficult to enjoy staying in the room. Which is a shame, because the rooms are beautiful. Opening the windows or deplying dozens of candles and essential oils is completely useless: the smell will come back the moment you turn on the AC. I think it's urgent that the hotel resolves this problem, because it ruins an otherwise magnificent experience.

luxuries and spacious

The high tech light system wasn’t manageable, this needs simplifying or at least explained when shown to the room. Breakfast although a wonderful visual spread the food was not as warm/hot as it should be. The glass partition in the bathroom adjacent the sliding door is potentially dangerous as one could easily walk into it and cause a serious injury.

Big room and clean, a lot of choices for breakfast, resort is next to the beach and big swimming pool.

Un superbe hôtel qui devrait obtenir un 10, mais auquel je ne donne que 6 comme note globale et qui obtiendra un 2 si un contrôle sanitaire est est fait. - Chambre « Océan » super bien agencée comme on aimerait avoir chez soi. - Vue sur la piscine très agréable. - Chambre propre. Parfois avec certaines traces ici et là qui n’ont jamais été nettoyées. - Personnel super arrangeant et sympathique. La gérante parle le français et l’allemand. D’autres personnes parlent l’anglais et le chinois …. Et évidement le thaï. - Le déjeuner offre chaque matin des choix de nourriture très variés et pour absolument tous les goûts. Tout est toujours en abondance, jusqu’à la fin de l’heure limite. Superbe ! Par contre, chaque jour sont identiques en ce qui concerne les choix. - La douche est simplement ce que j’ai vu de mieux jusqu’à présent. Moderne, à température constante, sans problème d’évacuation d’eau. Un plaisir de se doucher. Une douche « pluie » en plafond et une autre amovible. Chaque partie avec un réglage individuel. - La baignoire sur le balcon est agréable pour les bains à deux, l’un à côté de l’autre (sans jeux de mots), dans un coins du balcon bien discret. - Beaucoup de place pour poser ses bagages. - Un mini bureau pour travailler avec toute la connectique nécessaire. - Restauration dans les restaurants de l’hôtel à prix européens. - Restauration possible à l’extérieur avec différents choix (Thai, Italien, …) mais à des prix touristiques (par exemple le Pad Thai à 120 THB. A l’intérieur du pays -Isan- il est à 35 THB). - Possibilité de prendre un taxi (pick up ) pour 1300 THB la journée (9h) qui vous emmènera partout où vous voulez. Chez nous, avec 9 places à visiter. Nous étions 4 personnes, mais il peut en prendre 8 pour le même prix. Alors éviter les « Tour Circuit » qui sont bien plus onéreux. - Certains soir, il y a des spectacles de feux donnés par des artistes locaux. Superbe.

- Odeur désagréable (égouts) dans la salle de bain. Problème résolu très rapidement par la gérante de l’hôtel. Mais après deux jours, le problème revient. La parade trouvée par l’hôtel était de mettre une petite bougie qui chauffe une huile odorante. - Mauvaise odeur dans la climatisation (humidité ou bactéries ou germes?). La gérante de l’hôtel nous pris au sérieux et a essayé de résoudre le problème, mais sans grand succès. Une ouverture permanente (jour et nuit) de la fenêtre de la chambre ET l’arrêt de la climatisation a résolu le problème. La gérante nous a proposé deux autres chambres, mais le problème était le même. Nous avons eu l’occasion d’aller en visite dans d’autres chambres, idem, une très forte odeur se dégage de la climatisation. Il semblerai que cet hôtel ait un grave problème d’hygiène avec la climatisation des chambres. - L’éclairage de la chambre à des boutons pas très efficaces. Parfois un peu pénible à presser. Mais le tout est bien pensé. - Le WIFI a fonctionné durant 3 jours sans aucun problème. Ensuite, les 4 jours suivant, c’était une horreur. Il y avait des pertes de connexion permanentes. - Un nettoyage des sols (chemins de passage entre bâtiments) est une bonne chose en soit. Mais quand une grande partie de la saleté nettoyée avec de l’eau à haute pression va dans la piscine, là je m’interroge sur les pratiques de l’hôtel. - Escaliers du bâtiment très sales. Jamais balayé ni récurés durant les 7 jours de notre séjour. - Barrières métalliques très rouillées comme c’est le cas un peu partout en Thaïlande. Sauf qu’ici, on est dans un hôtel à prix très élevé et que l’entretien laisse à désirer. - La plage ne dispose pas de douches pour le corps sur la plage, uniquement des petites douche pour les pieds, mais mal situées. - La piscine n’a pas de douches visible. Il faut les chercher pour les trouver car elles ne sont pas à même la piscine.

Die Lage des Hotels ist top! Man findet alles, was man braucht innerhalb kürzester Zeit! Das Hotel ist weitläufig und sehr ruhig gelegen! Der Strand ist toll, wenn man es etwas welliger mag, umso schöner! Das Personal ist super freundlich, alle waren sehr aufmerksam und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück ist super, die Bar & Feuershow sind auch toll!

Das Hotel hätte hier und da eine Renovierung nötig, man sollte nicht zu genau hinsehen! Leider wurden immer wieder Liegen dauerreserviert, man konnte trotzdem immer noch irgendwo einen Platz finden. Wir fanden die Preise prinzipiell für Thailand recht hoch überall.

- Lage direkt am Strand - großes und sauberes Zimmer - alles was man benötigt ist im Hotel vorhanden - gutes Frühstück mit Barista Kaffee Aus meiner Sicht perfekt für einen Aufenthalt in. Khaolak. Das Personal ist super freundlich und das Hotel perfekt. Lage am Strand aber auch fußläufig zu allen guten Restaurants gelegen. Der Strandabschnitt ist sauber und am Rand der Hotels, somit relativ ruhig. Liegen, Palmen, Sonnenschirme und Handtücher sind ausreichend vorhanden.

Das Hotel ist schön modern. Mal nicht der klassische Thaistil. Wenn man das mag, ist es nur zu empfehlen

Die Gartenview Zimmer sind eher mit einem Blick auf die Hecke und weniger in einen Garten. Trotzdem hat der Blick ins grüne etwas beruhigendes und man sitzt nicht auf dem Präsentierteller

Super Hotel, entspricht 5 Sterne, riesen Auswahl zum Frühstück mit super guten Kaffee

Lage am Strand. Sehr nettes Personal. Wasserspender im Hotel. Täglich zwei kostenlose Flaschen Wasser auf dem Zimmer. Gutes Fitnesstudio. Frühstück sehr gut. Hotel hat insgesamt einen sehr hohen Standard. Wir kommen wieder.

Leider vereinzelt leider ein paar Haare auf dem Boden, aber nicht weiter schlimm. Für meinen Partner war die Matraze etwas hart. Wir haben auf Nachfrage aber einen Matrazentopper bekommen. Dann war es ok.

Ein tolles Frühstücksbufett lässt morgens keine Wünsche ffen und ist auch nach mehreren Tagen noch abwechslungsreich. Die Zimmer sind sehr gut ausgestattet. Der Strand ist sehr schön und weitläufig, allerdings auch sehr ruhig. Das umfangreiche Angebot an Getränken, insb. zu den Happy Hours war toll und preiswert.

Die angebotenen Themenmenüs am Abend sind teilweise überteuert. Der Japanische Abend top, das thailändische Bufett eher flop. Bei den Zimmern und in der gesamten Anlage muss aufgepasst werden, dass bei Reparaturarbeiten sorgfältiger gearbeitet wird z.B. Farbspritzer auf anderen Wänden).

Es hat alles gepasst

Tolle moderne Anlage mit wirklich freundlichen und ausgeschlossenen Personal Das Frühstücksbüffet ist sehr gut und es gibt eine Baristaecke, d.h. für guten Kaffee am Morgen ist auch gesorgt. Der Strand ist sauber und fussläufig gibt es eine Vielzahl an Restaurants. Wir waren zum zweiten Mal hier und werden hoffentlich wieder kommen.

Wer früh schlafen gehen möchte, sollte lieber kein Zimmer in der Nähe vom Strand haben, da die Musik von der Beachbar stören könnte.
